About
About Feed Arkansas Kids
Feed Arkansas Kids is a ministry through the Church at Rock Creek that provides weekend meals for homeless and food insecure children in Central Arkansas. It is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The concept is simple: children at risk of weekend hunger receive a meal pack with enough shelf-stable food to easily assemble into 7 healthy meals and snacks. Arkansas ranks #5 in the nation for child hunger. Feed Arkansas Kids' philosophy is simply to end child hunger by partnering with the schools in our communities to discreetly distribute food each week.
The food is purchased with donations from Church members and is subsidized by outside contributions from local businesses to help support the growing financial need. The food is ordered through the Arkansas Foodbank Network.
We currently provide weekend meals to 1,400 students in over 50 schools in Central Arkansas.
Our program works with school districts in Little Rock, North Little Rock, Pulaski County Special, Sheridan, Bryant, AR School for the Deaf, and the Francis Allen School.
